Child Nutrition

The Scotland County Schools Child Nutrition Department serves nutritious meals in a clean, safe and friendly enviroment to students and adults each day.

  All 14 schools offer the breakfast and lunch program. The offer verses serve provision allows students to accept three items and decline two. Two entrees are offered in each school for lunch daily. The Child Nutrition Department is dedicated to offering healthy items and encouraging healthy eating habits. Our meals meet the guidelines for nutritional values set by the state. The USDA program called Team Nutrition, teaches students to eat more healthy meals. Team Nutrition encourages students to choose low fat items such as whole grains, vegetables and fruit.

The school lunch and breakfast programs each provide one third of the dietary daily allowance for each child.
